The Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) is the national credit union trade association that provides services to Canada’s credit unions, caisses populaires (outside of Quebec), and regional Central organizations. CCUA is distinct in its commitment to cooperative values and is the first national credit union governed organization in Canada.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the CCUA, representing 225 credit unions with 5.9 million members across Canada, must be a strong collaborator and possess the skills to drive a member focused organization to new heights. They must demonstrate dynamic leadership and relationship building skills to maintain high quality member services that will meet evolving and competitive market needs, while positively contributing to the considerable work already underway. The successful candidate will be a transformational leader able to maintain and build on a strong culture, a motivator, and consensus builder, with an appreciation for the values-based ethos of the CCUA and the broader credit union movement. They will possess a level of sophistication and political acumen required to work with regulators and government officials to advance initiatives. With robust knowledge of the financial services sector, both nationally and internationally, the President and CEO will be tasked with strategically advancing the sector’s resilience in the face of financial services disruption and positioning credit unions for strength and success.
This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to both serve and shape the diverse credit union sector, while representing its members locally, nationally and internationally.
