Job Description

The Research Assistant (RA) will conduct a review of the literature to support course development and source information for a proposed Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Program. To enrich the learning experience, the RA will also be involved in some meetings of the curriculum development team for the purpose of communication, shared problem solving and planning to better understand the curriculum development process.

The RA position will be remote with the option of in person engagement and will be directly supervised by the Associate Dean, School of Nursing. Weekly one-hour meetings will be held to discuss assigned work, provide feedback, plan next steps, and discuss questions of interest to the graduate student regarding the overall process of course and curriculum development.

The successful candidate(s) will also meet the following qualifications: 

  • Enrolled in a nursing graduate program (Masters or PhD in Nursing), with priority given to students who are in a nursing education stream
  • Demonstrated initiative, commitment, and self-direction
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software programs (word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience conducting literature searches using multiple databases
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Career goals that include nursing education is considered an asset

The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

  1. Available for a maximum of 24 hours/week
  2. Clear academic record
  3. Does not hold a concurrent full-time paid role
