Black Boys Code is looking for a Black male university computer science and engineering students to lead their technology summer camp!
Are you passionate about supporting the next generation of tech leaders in the country? Join a dynamic team of STEM students that will run our virtual computer science summer camp and after-school program.
Black Boys Code is in search of skilled and dedicated post-secondary STEM students across eight cities in Canada: Toronto, Brampton, Hamilton, Windsor, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax.
As an instructor, you will be introducing boys in our community to the world of digital technology. You will work with a team, assisting in facilitating workshops for Black boys ages 10-14 about core computer programming concepts. We are looking for an energetic individual who will promote an environment that fosters communication and collaboration. You will also take on a mentorship role, empowering the boys
and serving as a role model.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Holder of, or working towards completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer
programming, computer science, computer engineering or technology related disciplines
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer programming and related concepts
- Ability to convey complicated code in a simple manner for children to understand
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is an asset
- Must be based in Toronto, Brampton, Hamilton, Windsor, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton
- A working laptop and stable internet connection
Hourly rate: TBD
Terms: Part-time 1 year contract

ABOUT BLACK BOYS CODE
Black Boys Code is a national organization dedicated to introducing Black boys through their critical development years (ages 8 to 17 years old) to computer science through exposure workshops, Hackathons, after-school and summer programs. Our programs are aimed at boys at a young age to build their capacity and skills in the STEM (Science, Technologies, Engineering and Math) disciplines with a focus on computer science.
We utilize mentorship, industry exposure, and intensive training in the field of computer science to help young boys understand they have the ability to become technological innovators and creators in the digital age.
